Support Groups

GROUPS OFFERED: FALL 2017

  • ANXIETY SUPPORT GROUP

    Wednesdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. (From October 11 to November 29)

    Students can receive support around concerns including, but not limited to:

      • Managing the symptoms of anxiety and stress
      • Identifying and learning effective coping strategies to cope with panic or worrying thoughts
      • Strategies to manage stress in a healthy and effective manner
      • Addressing worries, fears, or stressors
      • Academic-related and/or test anxiety
      • Fear or stress in interactions with others such as social situations, group work, or family
  • DEPRESSIVE AFFECTS SUPPORT GROUP

    Tuesdays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.  (From October 10 to November 28)

    This group helps to manage mood through discussion and support in a non-judgemental and safe environment.  Students will have the opportunity meet other students who are experiencing depression related issues.

  • BEYOND '13 REASONS WHY' DISCUSSION GROUP

    Mondays from 4:10 to 5:40 p.m. (From October 16 to November 27)

    Let's talk about the most talked about show of 2017! Join the Beyond '13 Reasons Why' group as we discuss topics related to bullying, guilt, sexual abuse, and suicide.

  • MINDFULNESS AND SELF-COMPASSION

    Dates: To be announced soon

    This group will help students develop mindfulness-based skills that assist with stress management, anxiety, and overall emotional balance. Students will also learn strategies that promote compassionate self-awareness.
