Teacher Career Development Expo 2018


On Friday, November 2, 2018 the Career Centre will be hosting the annual Teacher Career Development Expo for teacher candidates in the Faculty of Education from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Faculty of Education building, Downtown Oshawa Location. The Expo will provide year 2 teacher candidates and alumni an opportunity to explore a wide range of employment opportunities within the public and private educational sectors. School boards and agencies recruiting students to teach in Europe, China, and Australia and so on will be represented.

More than 30 organizations will be attending the fair. Some organizations will also be conducting interviews and French testing. You are encouraged to attend this event. Admission is free with your student ID card.

Apply to Education

ApplyToEducation is a provider of cloud-based, HR software solutions helping School Districts and Independent Schools manage their employees’ careers from date of hire until they retire. Currently, three out of four Canadian School Districts and schools in 49 countries around the world use ApplyToEducation to post all their jobs and receive employment applications online.  You will learn how to use ApplyToEducation to search for employment in education and get your application into the school board, international or private school.

Alternative Career Path

What additional career options might your Bachelor of Education Degree provide? This session features some of our Bachelor of Education Program graduates who are not teaching in publicly funded school boards. 

Life as a Teacher 

What is life really like after you graduate from the Bachelor of Education Degree Program? This session features some of our Bachelor of Education Program graduates who are currently employed as teachers in publicly funded schools in Ontario. Panelist will share their experiences as teachers.

Furthering your Education

With the end of your formal Bachelor of Education Program journey just around the corner, have you considered how you might continue your professional learning? This session provides you with more information about how to continue your professional learning through UOIT’s Faculty of Education’s Graduate Programs and/or the Centre for Professional Learning in Education.
